Fragment: Yoland

Unpublished.

3 page draft in Morris's hand in Yale University Library MS 1595 with the top torn off. The speaker embraces a woman who challenges him to fight--"Coward she said/ Do you fear death." He agrees to fight, speaks of drowning, and finally asserts,

At any rate I fear no man...
I am not now afraid of God.

The themes suggest an inchoate version of the early prose romance, "A Dream," or a rejected draft for "The Tune of Seven Towers."
